The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:
Minor Pepsi Basketball Championships
The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will host 66 teams this weekend, May 4-6, in nine separate provincial Pepsi championships in various regions of the province. The West Coast Midget Boys and Girls A and B events will take place in Gander and Glenwood with a total of 26 teams competing. The East Coast Midget Boys A event will take place at St. Kevin�s in the Goulds, the B event will take place in Mobile and the C division will compete at Amalgamate Academy in Bay Roberts. All three events have eight teams in each division. The East Coast Midget Girls A will take place at the Argentia Naval Facility in Argentia with eight teams entered while the B event will be held at St. Catherine�s Academy on Salmonier Line also with eight teams entered.
All events will commence Friday morning and will conclude on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning with the championship games.
