Provincial basketball campionships

The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will host six minor provincial Pepsi championships this weekend with 52 teams participating in various regions of the province.

The West Coast Bantam Boys and Girls event will be held at Indian River in Springdale with a total of 15 teams competing.

The East Coast Boys Bantam Championship will take place at St. Kevin�s High School in the Goulds with 12 teams vying for the championship.

I. J. Samson will be the site for the East Coast Bantam Girls tournament with eight teams entered.

St. Anne�s School in Dunville will host the Under 11 Mini Boys event with nine teams competing.

St. Kevin�s Junior High of the Goulds hosts the Under 11 Mini Girls division with eight teams entered.

All tournaments start on Friday and will conclude Saturday evening with the championship games.
