The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Bantam provincial volleyball tournaments

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association is hosting two Pepsi Minor Provincial Bantam Championships this weekend. The girls event will be hosted by Grand Falls-Windsor with 24 teams set to see action and the boys event will be played in Clarenville with eight teams 
involved.

The Pepsi Bantam Girls will be comprised of four divisions with six teams in each division. Division A is comprised of the following teams: Grenfell Eagles - Grand Falls-Windsor, Glovertown, Beaconsfield - St. John's, Presentation 7's - Corner Brook, Amalgamated Academy - Bay Roberts and Immaculate Conception - Bell Island. Division B is comprised of: Grenfell White - Grand Falls-Windsor, Loopers - Musgrave Hr., Leary's Brook - St. John's, St. Thomas Aquinas - Port au Port, G. C. Rowe - Corner Brook and Clarenville. Division C is comprised of: Grenfell Blue - Grand Falls-Windsor, Smallwood Academy - Gambo, Stephenville, Presentation 8's - Corner Brook, St. Kevin's - Goulds and Brother Rice from St. John's. Division D is comprised of: Gander, L.P. Purchase - Botwood, Pasadena, Frank Roberts - CBS, MacDonald Drive - St. John's and Discovery Collegiate - Bonavista. 

The Pepsi Bantam Boys event will be comprised of two divisions, division A will have the following teams: Clarenville, Mount Pearl, Immaculate Conception - Bell Island and Presentation - Corner Brook. Division B is comprised of: Catalina, Roncalli - Avondale, Beaconsfield - St. John's and L.P. Purchase - Botwood.

All awards are supplied by Browning Harvey who are the provincial sponsor of NLVA minor volleyball. Any further information may be obtained by calling the NLVA at (709) 576-0817.
