Pepsi Provincial Volleyball Results

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all teams that participated in the NLVA Pepsi Provincial Midget +1 and the Pre-Bantam Central Championships during the past weekend. The results of the events are as follows:

Midget +1 girls event in CBS was won by CBS Sabres who defeated Humber Valley Midgets in the final by scores of 25-12, 15-25 17-15. The bronze medal was captured by Roncalli of Avondale over Bishop's Barons of St. John's by scores of 20-25, 26-24. CBS earned the right to go to the final by defeating Bishops Barons 2-0 in a semi and Corner Brook Midgets defeated Roncalli Cardinals 2-0 in the other semi final. The all-stars from the weekend were Sasha Wilkins - Smallwood Acadamy, Sarah Chalker - Bishop's, Kristen Penney - Corner Brook, Krista Parsons - CBS Sabres, Dami Walsh - Roncalli, Rhiannon Morgan - CBS Sabers. Most sprited player went to Lindsey Cooper - St. Bernard's.

Midget +1 boys was played in Bay Roberts and was won by Braves who defeated Roncalli High in the final by scores of 25-18, 25-23. The bronze medal was captured by Ascension who defeated Clarenville 26-24, 25-27, 15-8. The Braves earned the right to go to the final by defeating Ascension in the semi 25-18, 25-15. Roncalli defeated Clarenville in the other semi 25-21,
25-21. The all stars from the weekend were Adam Gillbert - Ascension, Justin Ezeikel - Booth, Brant Drodge - South West Arm, Patrick Whelan - Roncalli, Ron Hynes - Clarenville, Daniel Norman - Port Rexton. Most sprited player was Nick Higgins - Booth.

In pre-bantam boys (grades 6-7) central played in Grand Falls-Windsor, was captured by Grenfell who defeated Gill Memorial by scores of 25-13, 25-22. The bronze medal was won by L.P. Purchase who defeated Millcrest by scores of 25-10, 25-11.

Pre-bantam girls (grade 6-7) also played in Grand Falls-Windsor was won by St. Thomas Aquinas who defeated Grenfell White by scores of 25-14, 25-11. The bronze in this event was captured by Gill Memorial by defeating Grenfell Blue 25-12 and 25-14. 

The NLVA also held a championship for the grade 4-5 teams from Central with Millcrest Blue defeating Millcrest Green by scores of 25-20, 25-22. The bronze was won by Millcrest Gey who defeated Millcrest Ash.

Browning Harvey, who is the provincial sponsor of NLVA minor volleyball, supplied all awards for the championships. Any further information may be obtained by calling the NLVA at (709) 576-0817.
