The following is being distributed at the request of the Newfoundland Labrador High School Athletic Federation:

Pepsi Junior High provincial volleyball tournaments

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association is tipping off the first two of twenty-one Pepsi Minor Provincial Championships for the 2001 season February 16 � 17, with the Pepsi Junior High Boys and Girls Provincial Championships.

The girls event will have 22 teams compete for top honours in Stephenville at the following venues: Stephenville High School and the West Coast Training Centre. The teams will be broken into four divisions with the top two from each advancing to the playoffs that are scheduled for late Saturday afternoon. Division A is comprised of the following: Stephenville Flames, St. James Flames � Port Aux Basques, EVH White � Grand Falls-Windsor, Presentation 9�s � Corner Brook, Clarenville Cougars, Frank Roberts 9�s � Conception Bay South. Division B is comprised of Stephenville High, Presentation 8�s � Corner Brook, G. C. Rowe � Corner Brook, Xavier � Deer Lake, Discovery Collegiate � Bonavista, St. Michael�s � Bell Island. Division C is comprised of G. C. Rowe 8�s � Corner Brook, Legallis Memorial � Isle Aux Morts, Pasadena Falcons, EVH Blue - Grand Falls-Windsor, Smallwood Academy - Gambo. Division D is comprised of St. Thomas Aquinas � Port Aux Port, St. Paul�s Vipers � St. John�s, Amalgamated Academy � Bay Roberts, Presentation Too - Corner Brook, and Random Island Eagles.

The boys event will be played in Clarenville with 12 teams competing in two divisions, with the top three from each division qualifying for the playoff round. The two divisions will play all games at Clarenville High School, with the playoffs scheduled for late Saturday afternoon. Division A is comprised of Clarenville Cougars, Anthony Paddon � Musgravetown, Tricentia � Arnolds Cove, Saxons- St. John�s, Exploits Valley High � Grand Falls-Windsor, Amalgamated � Bay Roberts. Division B is comprised of G. C. Rowe � Corner Brook, Grandy�s River Collegiate, Southwest Arm Academy, St. Thomas Villa Nova � Paradise, Grenfell Intermediate, Roncalli - Avondale.
