Kevin Aylward, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, today announced that Salmonier Nature Park, in cooperation with St. Catherines Academy, will be coordinating a joint community clean-up which will encompass all communities from Admirals Beach to North Harbour, St. Marys Bay.

The clean up, which will be held in conjunction with National Environment Week, will take place on Friday, June 8, and will involve the cooperation of all interested students from St. Catherines Academy, their parents and other community volunteers, and Salmonier Nature Park. Also participating are the community councils of Mount Carmel/Mitchells Brook/St. Catherines, St. Josephs, Admirals Beach and Colinet and the Local Service District of ODonnells as well as the communities of North Harbour and Harricott.

In offering his support for this very worthwhile initiative, Minister Aylward applauded the involvement and dedication of so many groups and individuals in working together to keep our province beautiful and free of litter and thanked the staff at the Salmonier nature Park for being part of this initiative. He invites other groups and individuals to celebrate Environment Week by carrying out clean-up and beautification projects in their communities.
