Deadline for big game licence applications

Kevin Aylward, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, wishes to remind big game hunters that the deadline for applications for the 2001 resident big game licence draw for moose, for the island portion and Labrador, and caribou, for the island portion only, is Tuesday, April 17.

"In order to qualify for a resident big game moose or caribou licence, the applicant must be living in the province for at least six consecutive months immediately prior to his or her application for a licence," said Minister Aylward. "It is illegal for a person to apply to advance in pool priority in the big game process while residing outside the province."

In order to be eligible for this years draw, applications must be received at the Inland Fish and Wildlife Division office in St. Johns before the close of business hours on Tuesday, April 17. Applications arriving after April 17 will not be eligible for entry in this years licence draw.
