Wireless Vision Congress media launch

On Monday, February 26, the Special Celebrations Corporation of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, together with the Government of Canada, is holding a news conference to announce the international Wireless Vision Congress. The Congress will discuss and debate the future impact of wireless technology on cultures and societies around the world. 

Speaking at the launch will be: 

Roger Grimes, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador,
Brian Tobin, Minister of Industry, Government of Canada,
Princess Elettra Marconi, of Italy, daughter of Guglielmo Marconi,
John Kelly, Wireless Vision Congress Chair and a partner of Reid Eddison, will emcee the event.

The speakers will be available for photo opportunities and interviews immediately following the launch. 

The Wireless Vision Congress will take place from September 26-28, 2001, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada and will be one of the centre points of the 2001 "Receiving the World" Celebrations being held by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to honour the 100th anniversary of Marconi's 1901 achievement of receiving the first ever transatlantic wireless signal.
