NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister to announce funding for non-profit volunteer group

Sandra C. Kelly, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation (Acting), will announce funding in the amount of $20,000 on behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for Wreckhouse Entertainment, a local non-profit volunteer group dedicated to exposing our province to international outdoor explorers. Wreckhouse Entertainment will host Raid the North Extreme 2001, a five day expedition-style adventure race featuring a field of international competitors taking part in sea kayaking, mountain biking, hiking and other wilderness activities.

The presentation will take place on January 19 at 12:30 p.m. at the Canada Games Centre in Corner Brook and all media are invited to attend.
