Urban representative elected

The Board of Directors of the Municipal Assessment Agency is pleased to announce the election of councillor Lucy Stoyles of Mount Pearl as the new urban representative on the board. Ms. Stoyles was the successful candidate in a mail-in ballot to fill the recently vacated urban position. "The prompt election of Ms. Stoyles to fill the vacant position and return the board to a full complement of twelve members is indicative of the board's commitment to stakeholder input,"said Walwin Blackmore, acting board chairman.

The Municipal Assessment Agency provides real property assessment services to 231 municipalities across the province. The agency's board is representative of the agency's stakeholders with six municipal representatives, two taxpayer representatives, two provincial government representatives and a representative from each of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Municipalities and the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Municipal Administrators.
