Notice of Newfoundland Standard Time

Municipal and Provincial Affairs Oliver Langdon advises residents of Newfoundland and Labrador that as of 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, the time will revert to Newfoundland Standard Time and will remain in effect until Sunday, April 7, 2002. Time will go back one hour from Daylight Savings Time to Newfoundland Standard Time.

As minister responsible for fire prevention, Minister Langdon also encourages citizens to make a practice of changing the batteries in their smoke alarms when they change the time on their clocks. "Protect yourself against fire by taking the necessary measures to keep your home safe."
