No flights leaving Newfoundland and Labrador until official authorization given

Minister responsible for the Emergency Measures Organization, Oliver Langdon wishes to advise the public and all passengers and airline crew that there will not be any flights leaving Newfoundland and Labrador until official authorization is given by necessary authorities. Passengers and crew are advised not to go to the airports until they receive official notification of when these flights will be permitted to leave.

This is in response to a statement from airlines that some flights will be departing at 1:00 p.m. today. This is not correct. At this time, no airlines have received permission to depart from airports in this province.
