Notice of Daylight Savings Time
Oliver Langdon, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, would like to advise all residents of Newfoundland and Labrador that as of 12:01 a.m. on Sunday April 1, 2001, the time will change to Daylight Savings Time and will remain in effect until Sunday, October 28, 2001. Effectively, time will go ahead one hour from Newfoundland Standard Time to Daylight Savings Time.
As minister responsible for fire prevention Mr. Langdon advocated, "when changing your clocks, it is a good practice to change your smoke alarm batteries as well. Remember, planning ahead can save lives."
