Minister to meet with Board of Directors of the
Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Municipalities

Oliver Langdon will meet with the Board of Directors of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Municipalities tomorrow for the first time since he accepted Premier Roger Grimes' invitation into cabinet as Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs.

"As a former municipal representative and member of the board of directors for the Federation, I am aware of the cooperation that the Federation has shared with the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, and I look forward to continuing this partnership," the minister said.

"I appreciate the value of municipal representatives and administrators and their important role in the development of their communities, and our province as a whole. I am confident that my department, local governments, and our partnering agencies will continue to work together for the betterment of communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador."

The meeting, to be held in St. John's, will be an opportunity for the minister and the board of directors to discuss the accomplishments in recent years toward enhancing municipal autonomy throughout the province, and future priorities.
