MHA and minister visit St. Brendan's

Tom Lush, MHA - Terra Nova, and Works, Services and Transportation Minister Percy Barrett will be in St. Brendan's on Monday, September 10, to meet with residents of the town regarding transportation issues.

"As the minister responsible for works, services and transportation, I wanted Minister Barrett to see the current road conditions in St. Brendan's first hand," said Mr Lush. "Minister Barrett and I will be discussing issues regarding the current ferry system to and from St. Brendan's and ways to improve the current road situation."

Mr. Lush said the town council in St. Brendan's has been inactive for the last several years and has caused a breakdown in proper attention to the road system. "I will be making a serious effort to get the St. Brendan's council reinstated with the hope to establish normal response between government and town councils in ensuring safe and effective roads," said Mr. Lush. "It is important that the roads and ferry services for St. Brendan's be on par with others in the province."

Mr. Lush will also be meeting with the health care community committee regarding any health care issues they may have. "It is my intention to ensure that the people of St. Brendan's benefit from good quality public services in health care, education, transportation and other vital areas of public services."
