Minister pleased with new collective agreement reached at Canada Bay Lumber Company 

Labour Minister Anna Thistle is pleased to announce that a new three-year collective agreement has been reached between the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 579 and Canada Bay Lumber Company Limited in Roddickton.

This new agreement, which expires on January 31, 2004 was reached with the assistance of Cliff Wells, a mediator from the Department of Labour.

"I wish to congratulate Canada Bay Lumber Company Limited and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 579, on reaching this agreement, as it will help ensure labour stability at the mill for the next three years."
