Minister comments on new three-year collective agreement for the construction industry

Labour Minister Anna Thistle is pleased to announce that a new, three-year collective agreement has been reached between Construction Labour Relations Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2330.

This new agreement which expires on April 30, 2003, was reached with the assistance of Wayne Fowler, a mediator from the Department of Labour.

Minister Thistle congratulates Construction Labour Relations Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2330 on reaching this agreement, which will help to ensure labour stability in the province's construction industry.

"My department remains available at all times to support labour and business in this province through facilitation and mediation where the parties desire our assistance," she said.
