Justice Minister offers condolences over passing of retired Chief Provincial Court Judge White

Justice Minister and Attorney General Kelvin Parsons says he was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of retired Chief Provincial Court Judge Jack A. White on Sunday, February 4, 2001.

Judge White was appointed Magistrate in 1957, serving Bonne Bay, Gander, Stephenville and St. John�s. He retired from the bench in 1986. Judge White was a former chief protocol officer for the provincial government, as well as a well-known author and journalist.

"Judge White served the people of this province with great compassion and dignity, and never lost sight of his dedication to the ideals of justice," said Minister Parsons.
