Minister to attend science and technology
ministers' meeting
Beaton Tulk, Minister of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, will
participate in a federal-provincial-territorial meeting of ministers
responsible for research, science and technology in Qu�bec City from
September 20 to 21. The meeting will focus on bringing Canada from 15th to
fifth position in terms of the proportion of gross domestic expenditure on
research and development as a proportion of gross domestic product within
the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries by the
year 2010.
The objective is the adoption of principles to increase
industrial and university research, development and innovation.
