Minister provides update on departmental operations

Staff of the Department of Human Resources and Employment are coordinating the provision of shelter and food for passengers who made emergency landings in the province yesterday. Staff in offices located near any of the major airports in the province are cooperating in the emergency operations. While all of the departments offices remain open, clients are advised that some delays can be expected.

"Many members of our staff have been assisting in emergency operations since early yesterday afternoon, some working throughout the night," said Gerald Smith, Minister of Human Resources and Employment. "While HRE services in the affected areas will continue, clients may notice a slower response time to enquiries."

The department apologizes for any inconvenience, but is sure its clients will appreciate the current situation.
