Davis Inlet children to begin treatment

The Mushuau Innu, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Health Canada are pleased with the outcome of todays meeting in St. Johns in which treatment options for the children of Davis Inlet were discussed. This treatment addresses the individual needs of the children who have been through a program of detoxification and assessment at the Grace facility in St. Johns after being identified as being at risk due to solvent addictions. With the agreement of the parents, we will now begin placing the children in appropriate treatment programs.

All parties remain committed to working together to promote sustainable, long-term healing and good health for the community of Davis Inlet.
