Minister opens new branch of Hamilton Sound Credit Union

The official opening of the newest branch of the Hamilton Sound Credit Union, located in Fogo, took placed today, Friday, July 6, at 2 p.m. The new branch covers the Gander Bay-Hamilton Sound region and Fogo Island area.

This is the third Hamilton Sound Credit Union branch to be opened since it was incorporated in 1991. The other two branches are located in Carmanville and Musgrave Harbour.

Walter Noel, Minister of Government, Services and Lands, was in attendance and addressed those gathered at the opening. Mr. Noel said: "I am delighted that the Hamilton Sound Credit Union movement is prospering as it serves the needs of rural communities in our province. I commend the credit union for the tremendous service they have provided over the past 10 years and I wish them every success with the operation of their newest branch.
