Minister welcomes land directors to province

Lands directors from across the country will meet in St. Johns next week from July 2 to July 6 to attend the 41st Lands Directors Conference.

Delegates will discuss common lands issues and examine measures to deliver more effective and efficient land services throughout the country.

Walter Noel, Minister of Government Services and Lands, said today that he is delighted that the land directors are holding their meetings in the province. "Conferences such as these are extremely important. They give us a wider perspective and enable us to share information and ideas. While each jurisdiction is responsible for developing provincial or territorial approaches, we can all contribute to national solutions."

Mr. Noel will address delegates during the opening ceremonies on Tuesday, July 3 at the Fairmont Hotel. All 10 provinces and one territory will be represented at the conference.
