The following is being distributed at the request of the the MacMorran Community Centre:

NOTE TO EDITORS: Sod turning ceremony for new community centre

Tomorrow, June 14, at 2 p.m., the MacMorran Community will hold a sod-turning ceremony for a new 7,500 square-foot community centre to be constructed near

the site of its existing centre.

Representatives from federal, provincial and municipal governments, including Government Services and Lands Minister Walter Noel and St. John�s Mayor Andy Wells, as well as community representatives will be participating in the event.

Eight children from the community will turn the sod. Using four commemorative shovels, each group of two children will be joined by a community or government representative.

Location: 31 � 33 Brophy Place (walkway leads to field)
Time: 2 p.m.
