Cabinet committee to meet with Avalon caucus of Rural Economic Development Boards

The Economic Policy and Rural Revitalization Committee of Cabinet will meet with the Avalon caucus of the Regional Economic Development Boards (REDBs) in Carbonear, November 26.

This is the final of the committee's working visits in a province-wide tour to meet with the four caucuses of REDBs, as well as with other economic development stakeholders. The working visits also provide committee members with opportunities to see first-hand some of the economic development initiatives under way in the regions.

Committee chair Beaton Tulk, Minister of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, said that because the committee has responsibility for implementing government's Jobs and Growth agenda, the two-way sharing of information during meetings with regional economic development board caucuses has been extremely helpful.

"Government and economic development stakeholders can work together and continue to focus on the province's economic agenda, to accelerate economic growth throughout the whole province," said Minister Tulk. "The visits of the Economic Policy and Rural Revitalization Committee to the various regions have provided valuable first-hand input and information. We've seen many opportunities and a great deal of enthusiasm at play throughout province."
