NOTE TO EDITORS:

Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at Confederation Building to remember victims of U.S. tragedy

There will be a ceremony today at 1:30 p.m. on the steps of Confederation Building in remembrance of the victims of the recent tragedy in the U.S. The ceremony will include the raising of the American flag and then lowering the flag to half-mast, singing of the American and Canadian national anthems followed by the singing of the Ode to Newfoundland, and a moment of silence in remembrance of all those affected by the tragedy. The ceremony will conclude with remarks from Premier Roger Grimes.

Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, as well as those individuals who have been guests in our province awaiting flights to return home, are invited to attend.
