Premier announces date for byelections

Premier Roger Grimes announced today that byelections for the districts of Humber West and Port de Grave will be held on June 19.

"We are looking forward to welcoming two new members into the House of Assembly," said Premier Grimes. "The people in the districts of Humber West and Port de Grave will have the opportunity to choose their provincial representative and I urge all residents of these districts to come out and vote." 

According to legislation, a byelection must be called within three months of the effective date of a vacancy. These vacancies were created by the resignations of Paul Dicks and John Efford.
