St. John's company signs contract during trade mission

An award winning Newfoundland and Labrador company has signed a contract with an Atlanta company during Team Canada Atlantic's first trade mission to the Southern United States.

Telelink, The Call Center Inc. of St. John's today signed a six-month contract with ProAct Technologies Corp. for inbound customer service calls for ProAct's website Youdecide.com.

Premier Roger Grimes, who is leading the Newfoundland and Labrador delegation of 10 companies, participated in the signing.

"I congratulate Telelink for securing this contract. This is a promising start to our first trade mission to this region. I am equally encouraged by the business relationships and strong contacts being made by other Newfoundland and Labrador companies participating in this mission," said Premier Grimes.

Since it was established in 1965, Telelink has evolved into a fully automated, multi-media contact center providing customer service solutions to more than 400 domestic and international clients. It provides the service of both inbound and outbound call and data management in two official languages 24 hours per day, every day.

Sydney Ryan, director of international sales and marketing for Telelink, The Call Center, said: "This contract demonstrates that Telelink can, in fact, deliver world class service from Newfoundland and that we can compete effectively in global markets."

ProAct Technologies Corp. of Atlanta is a principal developer of enterprise-wide software for employee relationship management. The ProAct ERM solution enables large enterprises to better manage their human capital by transforming data into relationship-driven resource services.

"Innovation and strategic relationships like this one have been key to ProAct's growth," said Jim Payne, vice president of lending at ProAct Technologies. "Telelink's exceptional call center solutions allow us to better respond to the needs of our most valuable constituents. We're confident that Telelink will consistently deliver unparalleled customer service and overall value for our company's voluntary benefit solution."

The Team Canada Atlantic trade mission to Atlanta is organized by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the four Atlantic Provinces, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Industry Canada, and the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters.
