NOTE TO EDITORS:

Premier-designate Roger Grimes will visit with His Honour, the Lieutenant-Governor, Dr. Max House on Tuesday, February 13, to inform His Honour of appointments to Cabinet.

Premier-designate Grimes will be sworn in as the eighth premier of Newfoundland and Labrador at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochrane Room at Government House. Media representatives planning to attend the ceremony are asked to be in place by 9:30 a.m. An audio feed will be provided.

The swearing-in ceremony for Cabinet will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochrane Room at Government House.

This year, for the first time, the swearing-in ceremony will be broadcast live across the Internet, thanks to the technology of Memorial University of Newfoundland's STEM~Net facilities. STEM~Net provides high-quality learning opportunities, network access and on-line resources for students and educators in the K to 12 education system in Newfoundland and Labrador.   • 9:15 a.m. Cochrane Room available for set up, enter through side entrance of Government House.
  • 9:30 a.m. Media representatives in place in Cochrane Room to cover swearing-in of premier.
  • 9:40 to 9:50 a.m. Premier-designate arrives at Government House. No interviews will be provided by the premier-designate on arrival.
  • 10:00 a.m. Swearing-in ceremony.
  • 10:30 a.m. Media representatives in place in Cochrane Room to cover Cabinet swearing-in.
  • 10:40 to 10:50 a.m. Ministers arrive at Government House. No interviews will be provided by ministers on arrival.
  • 12:00 noon Premier and Ministers will be available for interviews following the ceremonies either at the Front Entrance or in the Cochrane Room.
