Environment Minister Ralph Wiseman has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. Copies of documents may be obtained by contacting the Department of Environment at 729-2562 or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.

Patricks Pond (Buchans Jct.) Crown Forest Management District 16 (Amendment)Proponent: Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods
The proponent proposes to harvest 5,000 cubic metres of timber for sawlog/pulpwood in the Patricks Pond West Operating Area (North of Buchans Junction) Distict 16, using existing roads. Harvesting is tentatively scheduled to take place between September 2001 and April 2002. The project was registered on August 20, 2001, public comments are due September 24, and the minister's decision is due October 4.
