UNDERTAKING REGISTERED
Foxtrap Commercial Salvage Yard
Proponent: Newfoundland Recycling Ltd.
The undertaking proposes to relocate the existing commercial salvage yard at Pocket Road, Long Pond, Conception Bay South to a new location at Incinerator Road, off the Foxtrap Access Road. The proposed new site was formerly a car wreck storage site for the town of Conception Bay South, but is currently under the jurisdiction of the City of St. John's. The site is approximately 4.5 hectares in area.
The purpose of relocation is due to the limited space at the present facility. The proponent proposes a larger site to accommodate future expansion and alleviate aesthetic concerns. The project was registered April 30, 2001, public comments are due June 4, and the minister's decision is due June 14.
