NLIS 1 February 6, 2001 (Development and Rural Renewal) Atlantic Canada�s Young Entrepreneur Awards The Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED) has issued a call for nominations for Atlantic Canada�s outstanding young entrepreneurs and their educators and supporters. The second annual Planet Entrepreneur Awards will be presented at a gala dinner this April. Whether making jewelry, building furniture or designing web sites, young entrepreneurs are fueling the economy of the region. Along with their teachers, mentors and supporters, these young entrepreneurs are eligible for nine award categories. The awards include:
From the finalists, judges will name the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency�s Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Award recipients receive a minimum $1,000 cash award or equivalent. CEED is encouraging nominations from all the Atlantic provinces to showcase the region�s excellence and diversity. Any person or organization, including educators, business counselors, economic development professionals and agencies can nominate. Young entrepreneurs can also nominate themselves. The awards ceremony is a highlight of the Spirit of Entrepreneurship 2001 conference being held at Universit� de Moncton in New Brunswick from April 26 to 28. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Friday, April 27. The conference will bring together up to 700 students, educators and economic development professionals from Atlantic Canada and beyond. Nominating someone is quick and easy.
