Extra classrooms for Ascension Collegiate
Rick Woodford, Minister of the Department of Works, Services and Transportation, and John Efford, MHA-Port de Grave, today announced that a $208,495 contract has been awarded for the construction of additional classrooms for Ascension Collegiate.
The contract includes a two classroom extension and other minor renovations to the Bay Roberts school. The contract was awarded to Colby Construction of St. John�s.
"I am extremely pleased that funding has been set aside for renovations to Ascension Collegiate," said Mr. Efford. "It is imperative that this school can properly accommodate the increasing number of students attending this year and well into the future. The construction of additional classrooms and these minor renovations will indeed achieve this."
Mr. Efford said that work will commence immediately and be completed by December 30, 2000.
