Road work contract awarded for Burin Peninsula

Rick Woodford, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Judy Foote, MHA - Grand Bank and Minister of Education, today announced that a $983,968.75 contract has been awarded to Provincial Paving Ltd. of St. John's.

Work will include upgrading Route 220 between Little St. Lawrence and Lewin's Cove, repaving from Taylor's Bay to Lamaline, site work for the new St. Joseph's school site in Lamaline and replacing a concrete retaining wall in Lawn.

Work will commence immediately and be completed by October 31, 2000.

"I look forward to the completion of these projects and an improvement of the quality of services for residents of the Grand Bank district," said Minister Foote.
