The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Midget teams finalized for Summer 2000

The coaching staff representing the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association have established their Provincial Midget Teams for Summer 2000. The head coach of the Midget Boys Team is Wayne White and the assistant coach and manager are Randy Ash and Paul McNeil respectively. They have confirmed that the Midget Boys Team currently includes: Andrew Boland, Brad Williams and Ronnie Sweeney of Mount Pearl; Michael Ward and Jason MacNeil of Trepassey; Peter Fifield of Paradise; Marc Pittman of St. Lawrence; Barrett Parsons of Spaniard�s Bay; Neil Trahey of Gould�s; Byron Ellis of Bishops Falls; Patrick Whelan of Chapels Cove; and Ryan Martin and Kevin Doyle of St. John�s. Chosen by Head Coach Pam Constantine and Assistant Coaches Dave Constantine and Tom Kendell, the Midget Girls Team consists of: Kimberlee Brophy, Stephanie Dinn, Chelsea Kavanaugh, Kate Parsons, Jessica Parsons, Lyndsay Rowe and Catherine Snow of Goulds; Robyn Constantine of Dunville; Danielle Lawlor of Renews; Krystal Lewis of Newbridge; Ester Mooney of St. Bride�s; Erin Mullaley of Freshwater; Nicole Quinlen of Mount Pearl; and Catherine Snow and Lindsey Taylor of St. John�s.

Both Midget Teams will travel to Prince Edward Island on July 28-30 for the 2000 Eastern Canadian Midget Boys and Girls Championships.

The NLBA would like to wish all teams the best of luck during their training and competition over the coming months.
