Provincial high school track and field championships this weekend
The High School Athletic Federation provincial track and field championships will take place this weekend at the Pearlgate track and field complex. O�Donel High in Mount Pearl and Bishops College in St. John�s are the co-hosting schools for the event.
One hundred seventy-two athletes from across the island will take part in the event, which gets under way Saturday morning. Individual champions will be declared in the following events: 100m, 200m, 400m, medley relay (200, 200, 400, 800), 800m, 1,500m, 3,000m. The team accumulating the most points in each of the male and female divisions will win the championship banner.
Teams competing at the meet include, E.J. Pratt (Brownsdale), St. Joseph�s Academy (Lamaline), Marystown Central High, Roncalli High (Port Saunders), Herdman Collegiate (Corner Brook), O�Donel High (Mount Pearl), Bishops College (St. John�s), Pearce Regional High (Burin), Queen Elizabeth Regional High (Foxtrap), St. Kevin�s High (Goulds), Mount Pearl Senior High (Foxtrap) and Prince of Wales Collegiate (St. John�s).
