MUN Sea Hawks shooters take top positions at local shoot

Though turnout for the Caribou Gun Club�s open shoot was low, the quality of shooting was particularly high. In the rifle event all competitors were either in the master or expert class. Dave Woolridge of MUN took the gold in master with a score of 561/600. Second place went to Claude Pike of the Caribou Gun Club. Claude shot a score of 529. In the expert class Jason Pelley narrowly took the gold shooting 530. He managed to stay ahead of newcomer Mario Dimitrov, by a margin of two points.

In the air pistol event, top honours went to Tony Smith of the Sea Hawks. Tony shot a 506 thereby clinching gold in the marksman class and moving up to the rank sharpshooter.

The air gun season in winding down for the summer with one remaining shoot scheduled match for St. Catherine�s in St. Mary Bay for June 10.
