Provincial High School Athletic Federation holds annual general meeting this weekend
The Newfoundland Labrador High School Athletic Federation will hold its annual general meeting, May 11-13 at the Battery Hotel in St. John�s. Over 35 delegates representing high schools across Newfoundland and Labrador will meet to discuss important issues concerning high school sports and set the direction for the 2000-2001 school year.
Some topics up for discussion include a reversion of the provincial tournament structure, a report of high school hockey, billeting and implementation of a new policy on alcohol and drug use. In addition, all provincial tournament dates and hosts for the 2000-2001 school year will be set.
The positions of vice-president administration and vice-president tournament/technical have completed their second term and are open for nominations.
The annual awards banquet will be held Friday night. Presentation will be made to Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, Coaching Service Award, Honour Award, Regional Recognition Awards and the four Schools of the Year.
