The following is being released at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Basketball Championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold nine of the 34 provincial minor Pepsi championships this weekend, April 6 - 8. A total of 64 teams will compete in the nine events that will start on Thursday and will conclude on Saturday evening with the championship games. Tournament sites and teams include:

East Coast Intermediate Girls A: host site-MacDonald Drive Junior High - Teams include Placentia, St. Kevin�s 8's of the Goulds, Beaconsfield and MacDonald Drive of St. John�s, and Mount Pearl.

East Coast Intermediate Girls B: host site - Mobile High - Teams include St. Kevin�s 7's of the Goulds, Roncalli of Avondale, St. John Bosco, Brother Rice and St. Paul�s of St. John�s, Baltimore of Ferryland, and St. Lawrence.

East Coast Intermediate Boys A: host site - St. Kevin�s Junior High - Teams include Mount Pearl and St. Peter�s of Mount Pearl, St. Kevin�s of the Goulds, MacDonald Drive and Brother Rice of St. John�s.

East Coast Intermediate Boys B: host site - Beaconsfield Junior High - Teams include Beaconsfield, St. John Bosco and I. J. Sampson of St. John�s, Roncalli of Avondale, Mobile High School and St. Kevin�s of the Goulds.

East Coast Under 16 Boys A: host site - Laval High/Argentia Facility - Teams include Mount Pearl and O�Donel of Mount Pearl, Regina of Corner Brook, Bishops, Holy Heart and Gonzaga of St. John�s, Fatima of St. Bride�s and Exploits Valley of Grand Falls-Windsor.

East Coast Under 16 Boys B: host site - Roncalli High - Teams include St. Catherine�s of St. Mary�s Bay, Queen Elizabeth of Foxtrap, Roncalli of Avondale, St. Lawrence, Prince of Wales Collegiate of St. John�s, Holy Spirit of Manuels, Our Savior King Academy of Southern Harbour, and John Burke Academy of Grand Bank.

East Coast Under 16 Girls: host site - Stella Maris School - Teams include St. Kevin�s of the Goulds, Holy Heart of St. John�s, Mobile High School, St. Catherine�s of St. Mary�s Bay, Stella Maris and Stella Maris 9's of Trepassey, Roncalli of Avondale and St. Lawrence.

West Coast Intermediate Boys: host site - Grenfell Intermediate School - Teams include Grenfell Intermediate of Grand Falls-Windsor, Presentation, and G. C. Rowe of Corner Brook, St. James of Port aux Basques, Indian River of Springdale, Xavier of Deer Lake, Lakewood of Glenwood, Grandy�s River of Burnt Island and St. Paul�s of Gander.

West Coast Intermediate Girls: host site - Xavier School - Teams include Xavier of Deer Lake, Grenfell Intermediate and St. Mike�s of Grand Falls-Windsor, Lake wood Academy of Glenwood, G. C. Rowe of Corner Brook, Fogo Island High School, Stephenville Middle School, and Indian River of Springdale.
