The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Pepsi Midget Provincial Volleyball Tournaments

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association will be hosting four Pepsi Midget Provincial Championships this weekend, March 3-4. The Midget A Boys event will have eight teams compete in Wesleyville and Lumsden while the Midget A Girls will take place in Port Rexton and Catalina with 14 teams entered in the event. The Midget B Boys will be played in Bay Roberts at Ascension Collegiate with eight teams set to see action and the Midget B Girls will be hosted by Bell Island with 18 teams entered in the event.

The teams entered in the Midget A Boys are: Lumsden Eagles, Carmanville Raiders, Roncalli Cardinals, Tricentia - Arnolds Cove, Lester Pearson High - Wesleyville, ExploitsValley - Grand Falls-Windsor, Sabres Ravens - CBS and Beaconsfield Saxons - St. John�s.

The teams entered in the Midget A Girls are: Port Rexton, Random Island, Lumsden Eagles, Amalgamated Academy - Bay Roberts, Exploits Valley - Grand Falls-Windsor, Roncalli Cardinals, Bishops Barons - St. John�s, Discovery Collegiate - Bonavista, St. Mark�s - King�s Cove, CBS Sabres, Gander Collegiate, Humber Valley Y2K - Corner Brook, Stephenville Spartans, and HVC MacDonalds - Corner Brook.

Teams set to see action in the Midget B Boys are: Ascension Collegiate - Bay Roberts, O�Donel High - Mount Pearl, Clarenville, St. Marks - King�s Cove, Amalgamated Academy - Bay Roberts, Bishop O�Neill - Brigus, Hitmen - St. John�s, and Smallwood Panthers - Gambo.

Competing in the Midget B Girls event are: Bell Island 1 and 2, Brother Rice - St. John�s, Botwood Collegiate, MacDonald Drive - St. John�s, Carmanville Loopers, Lakeside Lynx - Buchans, I. J. Samson - St. John�s, Bishop O�Neill - Brigus, Smallwood Panthers - Gambo, Pasadena Academy, Crusaders Midget - Rushoon, St. Pauls Vipers - St. John�s, Sabres Strikers - CBS, North Shore Collegiate - Northern Bay, Clarenville Cougars, Kinsmen Strikers - Marystown, and St. Joseph�s Academy - Lamaline.

All championships are set to begin Friday afternoon with playoffs set for late Saturday afternoon. All awards for these championships are supplied by Pepsi who are the provincial sponsor for the NLVA minor championships.
