The following is being distributed at the request of Newfoundland Labrador High School Athletic Federation:

Pepsi Junior High Provincial Volleyball Tournaments

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association is tipping off the first two of 20 Pepsi Minor Provincial Championships for the 2000 season on February 18 and 19, with the Pepsi Junior High Boys and Girls Provincial Championships.

The girls event will have 23 teams compete for top honours in Conception Bay South at the following venues: Queen Elizabeth High School, St. Georges, Frank Roberts and St. Edwards.

The teams will be broken into four divisions with the top two from each advancing to the playoffs that are scheduled for late Saturday afternoon.

Division A is comprised of the following: Leary�s Brook School - St. John�s, CBS Sabres Ravens Fly, MacDonald Drive - St. John�s, Exploit�s Valley - Grand Falls Windsor, Presentation 8's Corner Brook, and Random Island.

Division B is comprised of I.J. Samson - St. John�s, Roncalli Cardinals - Holyrood, Bishop O� Neill - Brigus, G. C. Rowe - Corner Brook, MacDonald Drive 2 - St. John�s, and Anthony Paddon - Musgravetown.

Division C is comprised of, CBS Strikers, Brother Rice - St. John�s, St. Micheals - Bell Island, Clarenville Cougars, St. James Flames - Port aux Basques, Pasadena Falcons.

Division D is comprised of, St. Paul�s Vipers - St. John�s, St. Thomas Villa Nova - Paradise, Amalgamated Academy - Bay Roberts, Smallwood Panthers - Gambo, and Presentation Panthers - Corner Brook.

The boy�s event will be played in Stephenville with 11 teams competing in two divisions with the top two from each division qualifying for the playoff round. The two divisions will play all games at Stephenville High School with the playofffs scheduled for late Saturday afternoon.

Division A is comprised of St. Micheal�s Elementary - Stephenville Crossing, Stephenville Middle School, G. C. Rowe - Corner Brook, Amalgamated Academy - Bay Roberts, CBS Sabres Ravens, and Clarenville Cougars.

Division B is comprised of Stephenville Spartans, St. Joshephe�s Blazers - St. Georges, St. James Flames - Port au Basques, Beaconsfield Saxons - St. John�s and Southwest Arm Academy.

All awards are supplied by Browning Harvey who are the provincial sponsor of NLVA minor volleyball. Any further information may be obtained by calling the NLVA at (709) 576-0817.
