This afternoon, on behalf of Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, Eddie Joyce, MHA - Bay of Islands, will be presenting a cheque in the amount of $5,000 to Dave Luther, Mayor of Corner Brook. The City of Corner Brook has been chosen as one of the ports for the Islendingur, which will travel throughout the province as part of the Vikings! 1000 Years: Make the Journey events, and this contribution will assist with the planning costs associated with being one of the ports for the Islendingur and host for the Viking celebrations. The presentation will take place at 2:00 p.m. in Mayor Luther�s office at the City Hall in Corner Brook.
