NOTE TO EDITORS:

Charles Furey, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will host a visiting delegation from Iceland from January 26-28, 2000. The media are invited to attend a photo opportunity on Thursday, January 27 at the Hotel Newfoundland Courtyard, 9:30 a.m., concerning the official signing of the agreement to bring the Islendingur, a replica Viking longship, to Newfoundland & Labrador this summer. Photographs and video footage of the Islendingur will be made available at that time. The participants will be available to the media after the signing.
