Market Highlights:

Retail gasoline prices increased on average by 2.0 cpl throughout the province in response to increases in crude oil prices earlier in January that were ultimately reflected in wholesale prices. For the communities surveyed, Conception Bay South continues to have the least expensive price of 72.9 cpl.

From January 18, 2000 to February 1, 2000 refinery wholesale prices, as measured by the Montreal refinery rack price, increased by 3.4 cpl to 31.3 cpl.

Crude oil prices decreased from $28.85 US per barrel to $28.22 US per barrel over the current survey period.
