Public Accounts Committee announces dates for public hearings.

The Public Accounts Committee, has recently finalized the matters raised in the most recent report of the province�s auditor general that it wishes to hold public hearings on and they are as follows:

1. Department of Government Services and Lands - Management of Crown Lands.
 Areas to be examined include identification systems of Crown lands, land use policies, application process and monitoring, and collection of accounts. Hearing to be held on October 5, 2000

2. Department of Education - The Student Loan and Loan Remission Programs. 
Specifically the application, approval and appeal process along with follow up monitoring. Hearing to be held on October 11, 2000.

3. Department of Development and Rural Renewal � Strategic Enterprise Development Special Reserve Fund.
Specifically the approval, analysis and monitoring processes for BPS Imaging Partnership, Cabot Call Centre and Newfoundland Bonding and Composites Ltd. Hearing to held October 12, 2000.

4. Department of Health - Peninsulas Health Care Corporation.
The committee will look at areas pertaining to financial position, capital assets, human resources, and expenditures. Hearing to be held October 16, 2000.
