National Wildlife Week exhibit at Village Mall

Kevin Aylward, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, today announced April 9-15 is National Wildlife Week.

"In celebration, a National Wildlife Week exhibit will be hosted by the Inland Fish and Wildlife Division of the department at the Village Mall courtyard from April 10 to April 15," Minister Aylward said. "The exhibit is supported by many government and non-government organizations who play an integral role in wildlife and wildlife habitat conservation and education. I invite everyone to visit the exhibit to learn and experience more about our provincial wildlife."

National Wildlife Week was established in 1947 to help educate the public about the need to conserve our wildlife heritage. In Canada, National Wildlife Week takes place each year during the second week of April surrounding the birth date of Jack Miner who is recognized internationally for his tremendous contributions to wildlife conservation in North America.

National Wildlife Week information kits are also available at local and district forestry and wildlife offices.
