Western regional compliance statistics released for 1999

Kevin Aylward, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, today released the 1999 compliance statistics for the western region.

Minister Aylward explained: "These statistics include violations under the Wildlife Act and Regulations and under the Forestry Act and Regulations as well as Federal Fisheries, All Terrain Vehicle and the Migratory Bird Act. Included in some of these investigations was the seizure of firearms, ammunition, hunting and fishing equipment, big game, all terrain vehicles, boats and motor vehicles."

This region includes district offices in: Springdale, Pasadena, Corner Brook, St. George�s, Port Saunders and Roddickton and satellite offices in Millertown, Baie Verte, Sop�s Arm, Burgeo, Woody Point and St. Anthony.
