Wildlife violations in Bonavista Bay area

On Tuesday, February 8, in Badger�s Quay, three males from Dover, Bonavista Bay pleaded guilty to charges under the provincial Wildlife Regulations. Gladstone Hounsell was fined $1200 and prohibited from hunting for five years for hunting big game without a licence. Navin Collins was fined $1000 and prohibited from hunting for one year for big game without a licence and without tags on his person.

Tony Hounsell was fined $200 for being in possession of slug ammunition in an area frequented by wildlife. The three were charged in the Lockyer�s Bay area, by Gambo District conservation officers, on November 19, 1999.

In addition to the fines, two firearms and ammunition were also forfeited to the Crown.
