NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, John Efford, will hold a media briefing today (Tuesday, July 18) to discuss a directive to be issued to all groundfish buyers and processors prohibiting them from buying cod for six weeks, commencing this Saturday, due to warm water temperatures resulting in poor yields. The briefing will take place at 11 a.m. in the main boardroom, Fisheries Building, 30 Strawberry Marsh Road, St. John�s.
