Government says meeting still on

President of Treasury Board Anna Thistle said today that she and Health and Community Services Minister Roger Grimes are both ready and willing to go ahead with the meeting with NAPE representatives scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, October 23, provided that the illegally striking laboratory and x-ray workers have returned to work by that time.

"The lines of communication will resume the minute lab and x-ray workers are back on the job," noted Minister Thistle. "The meeting is still on the schedule and we hope that common sense will prevail and NAPE will chose to address its members� issues through the appropriate forum - collective bargaining."
